Lee Min Hyuk (이민혁; born January 15, 1991) is a South Korean singer. In 2019, he participated in the reality competition show Produce 101 Japan but ended up ranking 42nd and was therefore unable to become a member of JO1.

On August 1, 2020, he debuted as a soloist with the single "Pray".[2]

Early life and education[]

Lee Min Hyuk was born on January 15, 1991 in Seoul, South Korea. When he was 12 years old, he moved to Ibaraki Prefecture, Japan and has lived there since.

In September 2015, Lee Min Hyuk launched his own YouTube channel under the alias "Hyuk" (ヒョク). He primarily creates content revolving around South Korea and beauty.[4] Even before participating on Produce 101 Japan, he gained recognition for his work as a YouTuber.

In 2019, Lee participated in the Japanese version of the reality competition show Produce 101, Produce 101 Japan. He auditioned as part of the group Beauty 4. He received an evaluation grade of B and was later re-evaluated as a D. He ended up ranking 42nd with 525,979 votes.

After the show, he returned from his YouTube hiatus and joined the content creator network CJ E&M DIA TV. In May 2020, he started a collaborative YouTube channel titled "Animal School" (アニマル学園) with Nakano Ryunosuke and other creators.

On February 8, 2020, Lee held his first fanmeeting, which was attended by fellow Produce 101 Japan participants Watanabe Ryusei, Osawa Naoki, Takizawa Tsubasa, Urano Shuta, and Yamamoto Kenta. There he also performed his debut single titled "Pray" for the first time. On March 26, 2020, Lee announced the official release of "Pray" through his Twitter.[5] The single was subsequently released on August 1 of the same year.[2] A second fanmeeting was held on November 21.[6] Osawa Naoki once again made a guest appearance at the event.[7]
